The Mas d’Amile is one of the newest and smallest domaines in the charming wine producing village of Montpeyroux. And it has a delightful family history too. The name is based on an anecdote: “When Amélie was born, grandpa Paul would have preferred a grandson, so he nicknamed his grand-daughter ‘Amile’ ! But later his dream came true when little brother, Sébastien, was born”.
And it’s in their grandfather’s old garage that Amélie and her brother, Sébastien, create their wine from old vines (100% Carignan for red), 100% Terret for white) and are now producing their first AOC Montpeyroux wine (Grenache, Syrah, Carignan).
The old Carignan vines are thriving, and combined with support from the whole family, are producing truly warm, friendly wines, that reflect the history and terroirs that make up this little Domaine. It’s the Mas d’Amile !
